About the Role
The Competitive Analytics Manager plays a critical role within the Global Competitive Strategy & Insights team. This role drives high-quality competitive analytics, builds scalable dashboards and models, and actively contributes to the team’s AI-enabled transformation.
This role partners closely with US-based team members and stakeholders, providing analytical leadership, operational support, and execution excellence across time zones. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly collaborative, intellectually curious, and motivated to automate and scale how competitive insights are generated and delivered.

Key Responsibilities
Own Competitive Analytics & Reporting
- Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards tracking inventory, GMV, supply-demand metrics, market growth, and share trends.
- Develop and maintain competitive benchmarking across focus categories, initiatives, triangulating vendor data and external intelligence.
- Monitor market and competitor metrics and proactively surface meaningful insights to US-based team members and leadership.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting cycles and strategy deck development.
Partner Closely with Team & Stakeholders
- Serve as a key analytical partner to US-based Competitive Strategy team members, supporting ongoing projects and strategic initiatives.
- Provide timely analytical support aligned with PST working hours through partial overlap.
- Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches and deliverables.
- Proactively communicate progress, risks, and updates to ensure seamless collaboration across geographies.
- Step into ad hoc and fast-turn requests to support priorities.
Leverage AI & Automation in Daily Workflows
- Proactively explore and implement AI solutions (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, eBay internal AI tools) to improve speed, accuracy, and depth of analysis.
- Support the development and deployment of AI agents and automated workflows for competitive insights.
- Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual work and increase efficiency through automation.
Data Integration & Pipeline Collaboration
- Collect and integrate vendor data into scalable, interactive visualizations and models.
- Partner with Data Engineering to automate vendor data pipelines and improve data reliability.
- Manage vendor relationships, scope data requirements, and ensure timely and accurate data feeds.
Drive Operational Excellence
- Take ownership of improving data gathering, validation, and visualization processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide technical guidance to team members on data feasibility, methodology, and timelines.
- Identify scalability challenges and propose technical or workflow solutions.
- Maintain strong attention to detail and high standards of execution.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Data Analytics or Data Science roles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Expert proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Excel. Strong proficiency in PowerPoint. Python is a plus.
- Experience working with large, multi-source datasets and solving scalability challenges through technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of AI applications in analytics workflows.
- Experience working in a global/onshore-offshore team model with regular collaboration across time zones.
- Strong communication skills and ability to support US-based team members remotely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating vendor and third-party datasets.
- Exposure to AI agent building, prompt engineering, or workflow automation frameworks.
- Experience in eCommerce, marketplaces, or competitive intelligence environments.
